This city is so charming it doesn’t feel real. We took a Segway tour where we saw the Little Mermaid. We did a scavenger city hunt game that took us through Christiania. We took a boat tour where we learned about the royalty and the movement to became more green and use garbage to fuel the city. We also loved just wondering through the Nyhaven Harbour and the Stoget, the pedestrian shopping street.
Copenhagen has beautiful parks and walking areas for both humans and dogs.
But, my favorite place in Copenhagen is Tivoli Gardens. Tivoli is an amusement park in the center of the city. They have rides and games for everyone but the best part is their decorations. We have been there at Halloween and it was magical. The decorations and the spirit are unlike anything we had experienced for Halloween in Europe. It was so much fun. It is suppose to be great at Christmas time as well. I can’t wait to go back. It really is a special place.
We stayed at the Imperial Hotel both times we have stayed in the city. The rooms are big and nice. Good location. Dog Friendly and close to walking areas. Great breakfast.
With a car:
Jægersborg Dyrehave: This is a no dog allowed park but don’t let that stop you from going. There are kilometers and kilometers of beautiful trails to explore as well as an old beautiful castle. As if that isn’t enough, there are deer everywhere. Thousands. They will watch you as they graze on the grass and hang out with their friends. Really cool place.
The Forest Tower: More of our favorite here with lovely winding trails and beautiful landscape. The trails take you to a tower that has a spiral ramp to take you to the top where you can enjoy the view of the entire area. Great picture spot and good exercise. Rex got a bit nervous on the ramp so he waited at the bottom but dogs are allowed.
Brøndby Strandpark: The beaches near Copenhagen are definitely worth a visit; especially with a dog. There are trails to walk along through the reeds or dip your toes in the sea. You might even see a few locals in a cold plunge. Bring a sweater because the wind can be strong but its worth it!
National Aquarium Denmark: The National Aquarium Denmark, also known as Den Blå Planet, is Northern Europe’s largest aquarium. Located in Kastrup, Copenhagen, it’s an architectural marvel that houses a wide range of aquatic life from across the globe. Visitors can explore ocean tanks, coral reefs, and Amazonian habitats, experiencing the diversity of marine life. One of the unique aspects of this aquarium is its location, which offers a view of Sweden across the waters,
