German Kinderpunsch Inspired by European Christmas Markets

Make Your Kitchen Smell like a German Christmas Market in 10 minutes.

German Christmas Market Inspired

Hot delicious Christmas market drinks aren’t just for the grown ups!  Kinderpunsch is another staple not to be missed.  It is alcohol free (unless you choose otherwise ) so its perfect for the kids and non drinkers at your gatherings or just for a warm treat on a cold day.

For the tea, I use caffeine free.  Using hibiscus tea is probably most common, but today I chose a forest berry flavor.  I like the berry addition but both ways are great.  Also, some people add a splash of cherry juice.

Now, if you are looking for a little snack to go with your kinderpunsch, look no further than stollen.  It is a traditional German bread with nuts, spices and dried fruit.  It is usually coated in powdered sugar and has a bit of marzipan in the middle.  It is often called Christsollen during the holiday season.

Marzipan is everywhere this time of year.  It is basically made of sugar and almond meal or almond oil.  In addition to the filling in stollen, they use it to make the cutest figurines and shapes of all kinds.
